Thank you for checking out my website! I hope you like what you see and give me the honor of capturing special moments in your life. But first let me tell you a little bit about myself...
I was born in Wales, and arrived in Florida in 1996 with no plans beyond a year... As the years go by I look back in wonder of all the amazing places I’ve seen, the people I have met and the experiences I have had. The greatest of all was meeting my soul mate and together making a life with our 2 smart, handsome, lovable boys.
I feel like I have been taking pictures forever. Photography is my passion and these special people in my life are my inspiration. They can make me cry with pride, laugh until it hurts, wonder at their innocence, love with a passion and even drive me to despair!
These are things we want to wrap up and keep with us forever, these are the things I like to capture with my photography. These are things I want to do for my clients, for you.
I will always give you my best, help you to relax and have fun. I have laughed and cried at many a portrait session, and always go home with a smile. I want you to do the same.
I have studied with the New York Institute of Photography, and I am a member of the Arts Center of St Petersburg and the Tampa Area Professional Photographers Association, as well as the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce.
I am also a Pediatric Occupational Therapist by profession (though I gave it up to do photography full time in the Spring of 2009), and throughout my 21+ years of experience as an OT I had the privilege of working with people in all walks of life, people of all ages with special needs, and I bring that understanding, knowledge and patience to my photography with kids and families with special needs. You may spot some of these precious kids throughout the website. They played hard and had fun and you can see it in their eyes!
All of my photo sessions are done on location, utilizing the beauty of natural light. I can go to the beach, the park, downtown, your home. I am always open to suggestions and ideas; Tell me where and what is special for you. I want to capture the essence of you in my lifestyle portraiture
I am available for family and individual portraits, special needs, high school senior portraits, maternity and newborns, engagements and weddings, special occasions, and commercial photography.
Many of my clients are visitors to the area who want to capture memories of their vacations on our beautiful beaches and parks. And who wouldn’t? Many come back to me year after year. They have truly become family.
My style could be described as fun, relaxed, informal, and intimate. I love to “get in close” and capture the character and subtle interactions between siblings, parent and child, couples and peers. I will keep shooting as you play. I want you to look back on the images and feel like you were still there.I want to capture your personality, I want people to feel like they know you . I want for each image to bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eyes.
Don’t expect your young child to be on his/her best behavior and smile for the camera (although a little bribery goes a long way!). There is often so much going on, and so many things to explore, that you are not going to have a happy child if he or she has to sit and smile. Just play with them and relax, interact, have fun, cuddle , tickle, laugh... Then I will get some great shots; then I will capture who you really are.
When I photograph families I will capture the kids’ little tantrums, toddlers eating sand, the casual touch of a hand, a kiss on the cheek or the wipe of a tear.
When I work with couples I hope to capture the essence of the relationship.
When I work with high school seniors I hope to bring out their youth, excitement and personality.
I ask you to come prepared to take off your shoes, play on the swings, climb some trees, run on the beach, get sandy, and maybe even get wet!
This is the art of Lifestyle Photography !
Come prepared to have FUN!"
